Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 8, 2026
Last Updated: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GoldenTree Video Publisher ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") accesses, uses, stores, protects, shares, retains, and deletes information when a user connects a Google account and uses the App to publish videos to YouTube.
GoldenTree Video Publisher is a video publishing application that allows an authorized user to upload user-selected or user-approved videos and associated metadata to the user's own YouTube channel using Google OAuth 2.0 and the YouTube Data API Services.
1. Google User Data Accessed by the App
GoldenTree Video Publisher requests access only to Google user data necessary to provide its YouTube video publishing functionality.
The App uses the following Google OAuth scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload
Through this authorization, the App may access or process:
- Google OAuth access tokens required to authenticate requests to the YouTube Data API;
- Google OAuth refresh tokens, when Google provides a refresh token, so the user does not have to manually authorize every upload;
- authorization associated with the Google account and YouTube channel selected by the user;
- information returned by the YouTube Data API concerning upload requests initiated through the App, such as the uploaded video's identifier, upload status, processing status, or API errors; and
- information necessary to execute and confirm video publishing operations authorized by the user.
The App does not request access to the user's Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Photos, contacts, calendar, passwords, payment information, or other unrelated Google account data.
GoldenTree Video Publisher does not use the requested YouTube authorization to read or collect the user's general YouTube viewing history, search history, subscriptions, comments, private messages, or unrelated channel activity.
2. Data Sent to YouTube
When the user initiates or authorizes a publishing operation, GoldenTree Video Publisher may transmit the following information to YouTube:
- the video file selected or generated for publication;
- video title;
- video description;
- video tags or keywords;
- YouTube video category;
- privacy status, such as private, unlisted, or public, when permitted by the YouTube API and the application's API project;
- publication or scheduling information when that functionality is enabled and supported;
- thumbnail images when thumbnail publishing functionality is enabled; and
- other metadata strictly necessary to perform the YouTube publishing operation requested by the user.
This content is supplied by the user or generated as part of the user's video-production workflow and is sent to YouTube only to perform the requested publishing operation.
3. How Google User Data Is Used
GoldenTree Video Publisher uses Google user data only to provide or improve the application's user-facing YouTube publishing functionality.
Specifically, Google user data is used to:
- authenticate the user through Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization process;
- establish an authorized connection between GoldenTree Video Publisher and the user's YouTube account;
- upload videos selected or approved by the user to the authorized YouTube channel;
- submit the video's associated publishing metadata;
- receive the result of an upload request;
- detect and report publishing errors;
- confirm whether a requested upload was successfully submitted; and
- maintain the user's authorized session so that the user does not need to repeat the OAuth authorization process for every upload.
Google user data is not used for:
- advertising;
- targeted advertising;
- behavioral advertising;
- user profiling unrelated to the App's publishing functionality;
- creditworthiness or lending decisions;
- selling user information;
- building marketing databases;
- tracking users across unrelated applications or websites;
- training generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models; or
- any purpose unrelated to providing or improving GoldenTree Video Publisher's user-facing functionality.
4. OAuth Credentials and Token Storage
GoldenTree Video Publisher may store OAuth credentials necessary to maintain the user's authorized connection to YouTube.
When the App is operated as a local video-production and publishing tool, OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the application's local environment on the computer or server where the user operates the App.
These credentials are used solely to authenticate requests made to Google and the YouTube Data API on behalf of the authorized user.
OAuth tokens are not intentionally included in generated videos, video metadata, logs intended for public distribution, source-code repositories, or publicly accessible website content.
We do not sell OAuth credentials or provide them to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
5. Data Protection and Security
GoldenTree Video Publisher uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information it processes.
These safeguards include, where applicable:
- limiting OAuth permissions to the minimum Google API scope required for the application's functionality;
- storing OAuth credentials separately from publicly accessible application content;
- preventing OAuth secrets and tokens from being intentionally committed to public source-code repositories;
- using HTTPS/TLS when communicating with Google and YouTube API endpoints;
- transmitting Google credentials only to Google services where required for authentication;
- restricting use of stored credentials to application functions that require authenticated YouTube API access;
- avoiding intentional inclusion of access tokens or refresh tokens in public logs;
- allowing users to revoke Google authorization independently through their Google Account; and
- deleting locally stored authorization credentials when access is disconnected or deletion is requested.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore limit the Google user data processed by the App to the information necessary to provide the requested functionality.
6. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data
GoldenTree Video Publisher does not sell, rent, or trade Google user data.
We do not transfer Google user data to advertising networks, data brokers, marketing companies, or unrelated third parties.
Google user data may be transmitted to Google LLC and YouTube as necessary to authenticate the user and perform the YouTube API operations requested by the user.
We may also disclose information when required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid governmental requests, or when reasonably necessary to protect against fraud, abuse, security threats, or violations of applicable law.
Except for these circumstances, Google user data is not shared with third parties for purposes unrelated to providing or improving the App's user-facing functionality.
7. Limited Use of Google User Data
GoldenTree Video Publisher's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data obtained through OAuth authorization is used only to provide or improve the App's user-facing YouTube publishing functionality.
The App does not use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalized advertising, or interest-based advertising.
The App does not allow humans to read Google user data unless:
- the user has given explicit permission for specific data to be viewed;
- access is necessary for security purposes, such as investigating abuse;
- access is required to comply with applicable law; or
- the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations in a manner permitted by applicable Google policies.
8. Data Retention
GoldenTree Video Publisher retains Google user data only for as long as necessary to provide the functionality requested by the user.
OAuth access tokens may be retained for the period in which they remain valid.
OAuth refresh tokens may be retained while the user chooses to keep GoldenTree Video Publisher connected to their Google account.
Upload results and operational information, such as a YouTube video identifier or upload status, may be retained locally when necessary to track the result of a publishing operation.
Video files and publishing metadata may remain in the user's local application environment according to the user's own storage and workflow configuration.
The App does not intentionally retain copies of Google user data indefinitely when that data is no longer required to provide the requested functionality.
9. Data Deletion
Users may stop GoldenTree Video Publisher from accessing their Google account at any time.
Users can revoke the App's Google authorization through their Google Account's third-party connections settings:
https://myaccount.google.com/connections
After authorization is revoked, GoldenTree Video Publisher can no longer use the revoked authorization to perform new YouTube API operations.
Users operating the App locally may also delete locally stored OAuth credentials and tokens from the application's credential storage. Removing these credentials requires a new OAuth authorization before the App can access YouTube again.
Users may also request deletion of personal information controlled by the operator of GoldenTree Video Publisher by contacting:
REPLACE-WITH-YOUR-MONITORED-PRIVACY-EMAIL
Deletion requests will be processed within a reasonable period, subject to information that must be retained to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Revoking the App's authorization or deleting its locally stored credentials does not automatically delete videos that the user has already published to YouTube. Previously published videos are controlled through the user's YouTube account and can be managed or deleted using YouTube's own tools.
10. User Control and Revocation
Users remain in control of the Google account connected to GoldenTree Video Publisher.
Authorization is granted through Google's OAuth consent process.
Users can review and revoke the App's access through their Google Account at any time. Revoking authorization prevents future authenticated API requests using the revoked credentials.
Users can also manage videos already uploaded to YouTube directly through YouTube and YouTube Studio.
11. Third-Party Services
GoldenTree Video Publisher uses Google OAuth 2.0 and YouTube Data API Services.
Use of YouTube through GoldenTree Video Publisher is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service .
Google's handling of personal information is described in the Google Privacy Policy .
Users should review those policies to understand how Google and YouTube process information independently of GoldenTree Video Publisher.
12. Children's Privacy
GoldenTree Video Publisher is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through Google APIs.
If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the application's functionality, Google API integration, security practices, or legal requirements change.
When material changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
If a change materially affects how Google user data is accessed, used, stored, or shared, this Privacy Policy will be updated before the new data practice is implemented where required.
